Two California cities will raise the minimum wage beginning on Jan. 1, 2022. The city of San Jose will raise the hourly minimum wage from $15.45 to $16.20, as set forth in the San Jose Minimum Wage Ordinance. This applies to adult and minor employees who work two or more hours per week (tips not included). The city of Belmont will raise its hourly minimum wage to $16.20, as set forth in the Belmont Minimum Wage Ordinance. This ordinance applies to adult and minor employees. Tips and other benefits are not to be considered as an offset to the minimum wage. Both San Jose and Belmont will adjust their minimum wage rates annually, based on the U.S. Dept. of Labor Regional Consumer Price Index.
